Cruelty towards others is not sanctioned in any Bible I have ever seen. I simply could not believe the callous, cruel disregard the Bridegroom family showed to their son after his death. Now this last October I married a wonderful man-we had built a life together over the past 8 years.
I was forbidden to even mention the word 'AIDS' in the funeral service. He had totally protected me and as the house was mine alone they couldn't touch it-not that they didn't try. His family were from California and showed no interest in him during his 2 1.2 year life struggle but when he died they were suddenly in our home in DC asking 'Is this his couch? Is this his chair? Where are his bank accounts.' Thankfully, we had anticipated this and had written wills, Powers of Attorney and had all of our bank accounts as joint accounts with rights of survivorship. This inspiring, touching movie really struck a nerve with me as I lost my partner in 1990 to AIDS.
